This course will focus upon development of understanding and skill in biblical theological methodology, examining the overall storyline of Scripture and how various themes and individual books propel history towards God’s intended consummation.

Course 2:  Old Testament Exegesis I (3 Credits)

This course will help students develop understanding and skill in exegesis of the Old Testament. It will examine interpretive methods of Scripture, focusing upon the necessity of understanding the historical background, literary character, and theological context of a passage of Scripture. This course will focus upon skill in handling the genre of an Old Testament narrative.

Course 3:  New Testament Exegesis I (3 Credits)

This course will help students develop understanding and skill in exegesis of the New Testament. It will examine interpretive methods of Scripture, focusing upon the necessity of understanding the historical background, literary character, and theological context of a passage of Scripture. This course will focus upon skill in handling the genre of an epistle.

Course 4:  Systematic Theology I (3 Credits)

This course will focus upon development of skill in theological methodology that is informed by proper exegesis and biblical theology. It will also examine the doctrine of Scripture (bibliology) and the doctrine of God (theology proper), and the doctrine of man (anthropology).

Course 5:  Systematic Theology II (3 Credits)

This course will help students refine their theological methodology skills with examination of the doctrine of Christ (Christology), the doctrine of salvation (soteriology with hamartiology), and the doctrine of the Holy Spirit (pneumatology).
